New fast food love:

Jack in the Box’s Chicken Fajita Pita.

It’s SO yummy, and only about 350 calories. And it’s pretty filling, especially if you get it with a side salad (only about 50 more calories if you get it with low-fat balsamic dressing). And I know it’s fast food, so it’s automatically a little iffy, but compared to the rest of the menu, and the menus of most other places, it’s not bad!

And I’ll be having more fast food for dinner- Pita Pit. But I get it as a salad, with only a little tzatziki on top of a WHOLE LOT of veggies and grilled chicken.

Here’s a picture, for reference.

Blood Oranges

Just tried one of these beautiful things for the first time today. LOVED THEM. I mean, I’ve loved almost every citrus (really every fruit period) that I’ve ever tried, but these are definitely my new favorites. Why? THE COLOR!!

It’s so much easier to eat well when the food is pretty. That’s a big part of the reason I buy fruit and veggies at an organic, hippie foodie grocery store rather then the small, hard, thoroughly undelicous oranges or the bruised, mealy apples I’ve found in campus stores. No one would find that appetizing, I don’t care how healthy you eat.

But these? The ones I got are kind of a more typical orange color at one end, and then darken to the gorgeous scarlet in the picture at the other. It’s beautiful. And they’re a little more tart than regular oranges, but I kind of like that. I loved the bright pink juice it left on my paper towel. What I loved less was the fact that it stained my hands when I peeled it, but I can live with it.

Spaan’s meringue cookies

So I picked these up from Whole Foods today because I read the nutrition fact- 100 calories for 14 pieces! Can’t really beat that. And while they’re not big (about 1.5 inch diameter at most), they’re pretty tasty- crunchy on the outside, a little chewy at the center. Yum! I definitely recommend.

Also, the picture is not of the Spaan’s cookies. I just think meringues are pretty, and I like putting pictures in my posts.

Nike running capris

I have 2 pairs and absolutely adore them! They’re cute, prevent chub rub, and show off how nice and lean my legs are quickly becoming. Really, they’re perfect.

There’s also an ipod pocket, for the record.

Pacific Natural Foods Soup

The Vegetable Lentil and Roasted Red Pepper soup is ABSOLUTELYAMAZING!

I tried it for lunch today and I absolutely could not get enough. It’s a very reasonable 300 calories for the whole 2 cups, and it’s SO much heartier and more satisfying than most soups. Plus it had black beans, which number among my top 5 or so favorite foods.

And here’s a picture of the box. I just like putting pictures on things.

This awesome t-shirt

from Words to Sweat By.

I pretty much want everything on their website. Someone buy it for me? I’ll give you a cookie!

Can I just tell you all how much I love La Croix?

It’s light and refreshing, and totally good for you! Seriously, it’s just water. That’s really it. Yeah, it’s unsweetened, and that took a little getting used to, but I love it now. And it’s really helping me kick my soda habit. I still drink a bit too much, but it’s better.

And look how pretty the cans are! Although this picture’s missing the lime and coconut flavors. Ah well.

I love the lemon, orange, and berry flavored, but the grapefruit is the best. I just can’t really manage to find it anywhere, unless I’m willing to ride the bus all the way to Whole Foods and lug around a 12 pack for the ride/walk home. Which, sometimes, I am. But it would be nice if it was more readily available, you know.
